RealEstate.com is a simple and easy-to-use online real estate website. Just put in your desired zip code and follow the bread crumbs. The listings frequently include a full address and you can search for properties based on MLS number. Unfortunately, based on our criteria, this site did not return nearly as many homes for sale as our top three real estate sites.

Property Types:  

The advanced search can look for all kinds of properties including single family homes, townhomes/condos, multi-family homes, land and farms. Additionally, you can search for new homes in construction.

This site would have done better in our review but didn't return nearly as many listings as the top three sites in our tests.

Search Features:  

The search includes all the basics like zip, price, beds and baths. Nevertheless, it would be nice if you could also include a radius and other amenities in your search.

Listed Information*:  

Each home listing included the basics, like beds, baths and price, but additional information was inconsistent. Often the full address was included, but not lot, construction or equipment. They do provide a description space for the seller to write a paragraph or two about the property. Sometimes this included information about the home style, amenities or schools.

Additional Resources:  

RealEstate.com's Tips and Tools section supplements its listings with a considerable amount of reading material for buyers and sellers. This is excellent for those seriously considering moving or buying a house. Additionally, you can print, email or bookmark a listing.

A map was available on some listings but on others it wasn't.

Summary:  

Although it's a good place to start, they do not provide nearly as many listings as our higher ranked sites. This site is great if you use it in conjunction with another online real estate site. Find your properties on another site and use RealEstate.com's MLS search for addresses.
